Straight answers before you hand over the books.
Common questions about scope, QuickBooks Online access, cleanup, pricing, tax handoff, and what happens if the fit is not right.
Do you do tax preparation?
No. Atlas Keeps handles bookkeeping. We can prepare cleaner year-end records and coordinate with your tax preparer, but we do not file returns or give tax advice.
Do I need QuickBooks Online?
Yes. Atlas Keeps works exclusively in QuickBooks Online. We do not service Xero, Wave, FreshBooks, desktop QuickBooks, spreadsheets, or any other ledger. If you currently use another system, the engagement starts with migration to QuickBooks Online before monthly close service can begin.
How fast can you clean up old books?
It depends on how many months are behind, how many accounts are involved, and whether source records are complete. Cleanup is scoped separately so you know the timeline and fee before work starts.
What access do you need?
Typically accountant access to QuickBooks, read-only bank and credit card statements or feeds, merchant processor reports, loan statements, and any prior bookkeeping records needed to reconcile open periods.
Do you run payroll?
No. Payroll is a separate regulated workflow. We can record payroll journals from providers like Gusto, Rippling, ADP, or similar systems if the reports are available.
What do I receive each month?
A monthly packet with reconciled accounts, P&L, balance sheet, cash summary, open questions, and short notes on meaningful changes. Exact deliverables are confirmed in your scope.
How does pricing work?
Monthly plans start at $349/mo for Essential, $499/mo for Growth, and $899/mo for Premier. Final pricing depends on account count, transaction volume, cleanup needs, payroll activity, and reporting complexity. Catch-up work, messy books, and complex multi-entity structures are scoped separately.
What happens if we stop working together?
Your file stays yours. Offboarding should include removal of access, current reports through the last completed close, and enough notes for a new bookkeeper or tax preparer to understand the file.
